Factory Tools 2.0 is the first major update to
Factory Tools, our visual effects package for Avid
editing software on the Mac. Version 2.0 brings:
• 30 new filters, generators and transitions for both Factory Tools Basic and Pro users: Adjustable Mask, Blur Chroma, Blur Luminance, Blur RGB, Cartoon, Comic Book 2, Dots Wipe, Edges Sobel 2, Expand Color, Geometry RGB, Grainy, Heat Distortion, Nightvision Pro, Paint Wipe, Pencil Sketch, Perspective Reflection, Pop Art, Random Noise, Sharpen Chroma, Sharpen RGB, Stage, Swirl Wipe, Threshold RGB, Threshold With Colors, Tiles Wipe, Watercolor 2, Waves Wipe, Zoom Blur Chroma, Zoom Blur Luminance, Zoom In & Out.
• Intel support: Factory Tools is now a Universal binary, running natively on Macs with PowerPC and Intel processors.
• Improved rendering quality for geometry and distortion plug-ins at HD resolutions.
• Improved plug-in management features via the Factory Floor application.
• Factory Tools lets you demo commercial plug-in libraries such as idustrial revolution Volumetrix past the 15 day trial period (plug-ins running in demo mode render with a watermark).
• Factory Tools Pro is now required to install free plug-ins beyond the 115 Built-in Effects (commercial plug-ins such as idustrial revolution Volumetrix are not affected by this limitation).
• Factory Tools Pro users no longer have to manually install and register Organoptics FX plug-ins: the Factory Floor application handles this task automatically for Pro users.

• Avid Xpress Pro versions 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7 on PowerPC and Intel Macs.
• Avid Media Composer (software-only and equipped with Adrenaline hardware) versions 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7 on PowerPC and Intel Macs.
Please note that Macs with Intel processors require the Intel-native Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 or Avid Media Composer 2.7 software.
