NI Clone Pro

Allows you to clone one section of the source image to another location in the frame. The cloning area may be defined by one of the built-in shapes, or by your own media, which can be supplied via an image well.

Contrary to the simpler Clone plug-in, Clone Pro is uses field-based rendering, a technique which reduces filtering artifacts and improves performance. Because of this, Clone Pro requires Final Cut Studio 2 applications or Final Cut Express.

Effect Parameters

Presets
Presets contain a snapshot of the plug-in parameters. The Presets control lets you choose among one of the presets built into the plug-in, save current parameter values to a preset file, or load an existing preset file from disk.
A preset file saved to disk via the "Save As" button can be loaded from another instance of the same plug-in by clicking the "Open" button. Presets generated in one host can also be loaded from the same plug-in when used in a different host.

Source
The origin of the area to be cloned.

Source Shape
Defines the shape of the area to be cloned. The available shapes are "Entire Image", "Oval", "Rectangular", "Gradient", "Bar", "Ring". If you wish to supply your own shape to define the cloning area, select the "Use Custom Shape" option.

Custom Shape
This image well parameter lets you supply your own media to be used as the cloning shape. The media you supply need not be static: you may supply a video clip to clone a different shape at each frame. The media assigned to this parameter is only used if the "Source Shape" popup menu is set to "Use Custom Shape".
The custom shape is used as follows: pixels define a shape according to their luminance values. White pixels are fully included. Black pixels define transparent areas.

Source Scale
Defines the size of the area to be cloned. Please note that the final shape is also affected by the "Source Angle", "Source Aspect Ratio" and "Source Softness" parameters.

Source Aspect Ratio
Defines the aspect ratio of the source shape. An aspect ratio of 1.0 defines a circle when the source shape is "Oval", or a square when the source shape is "Rectangular". If you have supplied your own media to be used as a custom shape, it will be resized according to the value of this parameter as well.

Source Angle
Controls the angle of the source shape.

Source Softness
Controls the softness of the shape to be cloned. When using a custom shape, this parameter controls the amount of blurring applied to the media you supply via the image well. On low-end graphics cards high-softness values could take longer to render.

Invert
Controls whether the cloning area is inverted. This option may be useful to invert any media you supply as a custom shape.

Flip Horizontally / Vertically
Controls whetherh the cloning area is flipped horizontally and/or vertically upon being copied to its destination.

Show Source Only
Controls whether the source shape is visible in the output. While this parameter is on, pixels that are outside the cloning area appear darker. Enable this parameter during effect setup mode to have a better view of the area that you are cloning. As this parameter is only meant for effect setup, its value is not saved with your project or to presets files.

Compositing Mode
Controls the compositing (blend) mode used for combining the cloned image over the source image. To only view the cloned image, select the “Exclude” compositing mode.

Destination
The location where the area to be cloned is copied to.

Destination Opacity
Controls the opacity of the cloned image.

Destination Angle
Controls the angle of the cloned image.

Destination Scale
Controls the uniform scaling factor of the cloned image.

Destination Scale X, Destination Scale Y
The horizontal and vertical scaling factors of the cloned image.
