A color correction filter which lets you merge the alpha information from a separate track into the one the effect is applied to.
Effect Parameters
Presets
Presets contain a snapshot of the plug-in parameters. The Presets control lets you choose among one of the presets built into the plug-in, save current parameter values to a preset file, or load an existing preset file from disk.
A preset file saved to disk via the "Save As" button can be loaded from another instance of the same plug-in by clicking the "Open" button. Presets generated in one host can also be loaded from the same plug-in when used in a different host.
Alpha Source
Lets you select the media to use as the source for alpha information. When no media is In Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Motion, this parameter is available as an image well. You can drag and drop any media currently imported in your project onto the image well to assign it to the parameter:
![]()
To clear an image previously assigned to the well in Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express, right-click on the drop area and select the “Clear” option. To clear the image well in Motion simply drag any media away from the drop area. Image wells can be used with video as well as static images.
In After Effects, this parameter is available as a layer selection menu. Select an existing layer to assign its contents to the parameter. You can clear any layer selection by choosing the first option in the layer selection menu.
Fitting Method
Controls how the media assigned to the Alpha Source parameter is fitted inside the frame.
The available options are explained in this diagram:

Alpha Extraction
Determines how to extract alpha values from the media assigned to the “Alpha Source” parameter. The available options are
- Use native alpha values: select this option when the media you assign to the “Alpha Source” parameter was exported with alpha information.
- Interpret as mask: select this option when the media you assign to the “Alpha Source” parameter is a mask (matte) track where bright pixel values represent opaque pixels and dark pixel values represent transparency.
- Use a threshold value: select this option to extract alpha values from the media assigned to the “Alpha Source” parameter using a threshold algorithm. Additional parameters will become available to control the process.
Threshold / Sharpness
These parameters are available when the “Alpha Extraction” option is set to “Use a threshold value”. The “Threshold” parameter lets you pick a threshold value to separate pixel values in the “Alpha Source” media to become opaque or transparent. The “Sharpness” parameter lets you control whether the resulting image will have separate areas for opaque and transparent pixels (sharply divided), or whether the transition from opaque to transparent pixels is softer.
Invert Alpha
Enable this option to invert any alpha information extracted from the media assigned to the “Alpha Source” parameter.
