Getting Started with FxFactory

Two types of products can be developed with FxFactory: traditional visual effects plug-ins, supported by a large number of video applications, and Motion Templates, supported only by Final Cut Pro X.

The product type that deals with traditional plug-ins is called FxPack, and it is centered around the ability to use Quartz Compositions to deliver native plug-ins compatible with various versions of Final Cut Pro, Motion and After Effects:

The second product type is called FxTemplate. It focuses exclusively on visual effects for Final Cut Pro X created via Motion Templates.

Video Tutorials

The internal differences between the two product types are not important to end-users. An FxTemplate product can rely on plug-ins that are part of an FxPack, and complex dependencies can be established between products of the two types.
