Allows you to clone one section of the source image to another location in the frame. The cloning area may be oval or rectangular in shape, with adjustable softness and opacity. Clone also lets you supply your own media to define a custom mask shape, for even greater flexibility.
Effect Parameters
Presets
Presets contain a snapshot of the plug-in parameters. The Presets control lets you choose among one of the presets built into the plug-in, save current parameter values to a preset file, or load an existing preset file from disk.
A preset file saved to disk via the "Save As" button can be loaded from another instance of the same plug-in by clicking the "Open" button. Presets generated in one host can also be loaded from the same plug-in when used in a different host.
Source
The origin of the area to be cloned.
Destination
The location where the area to be cloned is copied to.
Source Shape
Defines the shape of the area to be cloned. The first two options, "Oval" and "Rectangle" let you start from a predefined geometric shape. If you wish to supply your own shape to define the cloning area, select the "Custom Shape" option.
Source Size
The size of the area to be cloned. Please note that the final shape is also affected by the "Source Softness" and "Source Angle" parameters.
Source Softness
Controls the softness of the shape to be cloned. When using a custom shape, this parameter controls the amount of blurring applied to the media you supply via the image well. Please note that on low-end graphics cards high-softness values could take longer to render.
Source Aspect Ratio
Defines the aspect ratio of the source shape. An aspect ratio of 1.0 defines a circle or a square, according to the current value of the "Source Shape" parameter. If you have supplied your own media to be used as a custom shape, it will be resized according to the value of this parameter as well. To maintain the original size of your media, set this parameter to have the same value as the aspect ratio of your media.
Source Setup mode
Controls whether only the source shape is visible in the output. Enable this parameter during effect setup mode to have a better view of the area that you are cloning. As this parameter is only meant for effect setup, its value is not saved with your project or to presets files.
Destination Opacity
Controls the opacity of the cloned image.
Destination Angle
Controls the angle of the cloned image.
Destination Scale
Controls the uniform scaling factor of the cloned image.
Correct for Aspect Ratio
Scales the image to its natural display aspect ratio before the effect is applied. This parameter guarantees that geometric features in the effect appear undistorted when the footage is viewed at its display aspect ratio.
This parameter should be enabled for most footage whose display aspect ratio differs from the native aspect ratio of the codec, e.g. NTSC DV frames recorded at 720x480 pixels and displayed at 4:3 (640x480 pixels), or HDV frames recorded at 1440x1080 and displayed at 16:9 (1920x1080 pixels).
Disable this option if you have already taken steps to adjust the frame aspect ratio and/or notice that this parameter is causing unwanted distortion in your footage rather than preventing it.
